Togford barn - Grade II Threshing barn converted to open-plan home

This Grade II listed, thatched threshing-barn, now separated from the original farm, retained its traditional features but had no function other than storage.
We were keen to retain the authenticity of the original barn appearance, however it only had two openings, large double cart doors on opposite sides, so we sought permission to copy the lancet gable windows present on the tithe barn in the centre of the village.
Internally, the walls have been lime plastered with rounded arises and left unpainted, the floor is slate flags over under-floor heating. Partitions contrast with the traditional external wall fabric to give a contemporary feel to the part split-level accommodation providing a comfortable balance between old and new.
